My name is Chuck and I started this blog simply to explore iPad possibilities. I'm the senior Systems Analyst at a technology company in North Alabama and spend most of my days working on PCs. In my free time I do web development, primarily in WordPress. You can check out a couple of my projects at MommysIdeaBook and our family site SimplyABCD.

The list of iPad missing features goes on

The list of iPad missing features goes on

I’ll admit it, I really like Apple. I have more technology products from Apple in my house than any other company. Now that’s we’ve established my Apple Fanboy status, I’m going to throw my two cents into the endless iPad, Apple, pricing, missing features, total disconnected, doomed for failure, game changer, greatest product ever, got [...]

In-Store locator

In-Store locator

Difficulty finding a sale associate? Where is the refrigerator filter? We have to go where so you can enter directions to my house for a home delivery? There’s (maybe) an App for that.

My iPad Dock Revisited

My iPad Dock Revisited

After discussing my original iPad Dock idea with a friend, I’ve come to realize that the dock connector probably doesn’t support video in. That will not keep my idea from working, and here are a couple of possibilities.

iPad electronic medical records (EMR)

iPad electronic medical records (EMR)

iPad digital music stand

iPad digital music stand

I’ve been around musicians for a long time, but I haven’t played an instrument myself since I was in 8th grade band, but I thought I had a good idea when I told one of my good friends “Hey, the iPad would make a great device for anyone playing music.” Turns out I’m not the [...]

iPad serial cable and terminal application

iPad serial cable and terminal application

As in IT guy, I’m constantly configuring switches, routers and firewalls. Many times doing it from a console connection. It would be great to have a iPad-2-Serial adaptor, along with a customized terminal application. OK, this may not be a solution for the masses, but hey, this is my blog, and it’s what I’d do [...]

My idea for an iPad Dock

My idea for an iPad Dock

The docking station iPad accessories on Apple’s website are a little to tame for my taste. I want it all. If I can’t run the full version of Mac OS X right on my iPad, then I want a way to run it with as little additional hardware as necessary.

What I’d do with the iPad if I ran Apple

While anticipating the arrival of the iPad I basically said “it all comes down price. I really don’t think it will be below $799, so it’s just not that interesting to me.” Well, was I wrong, and now I’m really excited about the iPad and all it’s possibilities.

iPad Announced

iPad Announced

The iPad announcement is over, and now the debating begins. Will this device be successful, will it fail. It’s missing that feature, or they should have done this or that. Analyst may debate the iPad’s relevance, but for now we just don’t really know because no one has spent quality time with the device outside of Cupertino.
